An EMDR Intensive may be a great fit if:
You’re feeling overwhelmed after experiencing or witnessing an overwhelming event.
You’re ready to break free from the trauma, anxiety, or stress that’s been holding you back and you feel strong enough to do the hard work of healing.
You’ve done some inner work and are looking for a deeper, more focused approach.
You feel emotionally resourced and are open to exploring physical sensations, internal experiences, and emotional insight.
You prefer flexibility and value efficient, results-driven care.
You’re motivated, self-aware, and ready to engage in deeper healing work.
-
An EMDR Intensive might not be the right next step if:
You’re looking for general talk therapy or coaching rather than focused trauma processing.
You prefer the slower pace and ongoing structure of traditional weekly therapy.
You’re uncomfortable exploring internal experiences like body sensations, emotions, or internal states.
You don’t feel emotionally ready to explore painful memories or intense emotional material.
You would benefit from a longer period of stabilization and emotional preparation before doing deep trauma work.
You’re currently in survival mode and need regular support to manage day-to-day life.
You are experiencing serious instability around housing, employment, or basic safety needs.
If any of these apply to you, it simply means a different kind of support may be a better fit for where you are right now and that’s okay. Healing is still possible, and the right timing makes all the difference.

Healing looks different for everyone. Some clients feel complete after a single intensive, while others decide to schedule additional intensives to keep building on the progress they've made. Some clients also choose to continue with ongoing weekly therapy for additional growth and integration.
We’ll talk through your options so you feel supported in whatever next step is right for you.
-
Yes! Intensives can be a great adjunct service to your ongoing therapy. I collaborate with your primary therapist to ensure that the EMDR work supports your larger healing process.
-
All EMDR intensives are offered online across Texas and Florida through secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions. In-person sessions are available in Austin, Texas for intensives lasting 3 hours or more. Please note that in-person sessions include an additional fee to cover space.
-
Yes. Research shows that EMDR is highly effective online. Many clients actually find online intensives more comfortable because they can process deep material from the safety and familiarity of their own space.
-
That’s okay. During the consultation and preparation session, we’ll talk through your goals and determine the best structure for you, whether that’s a set program or a custom intensive designed just for your needs.
-
I use several forms of bilateral stimulation (BLS), including visual tracking (eye movements), auditory tones, self-tapping (such as the butterfly hug), or rhythmic tapping. I also incorporate movement as needed to help release trauma stored in the body, especially when working with stuck or somatic material.
